FAIR TRADE | HANDMADE
The basket is made of seagrass by weavers from a cottage industry in Bicol, Philippines. Whether you place it on the countertop or table, it's sure to set the mood for your kitchen.
WOVEN BASKET MATERIAL
Abaca, musa textillis, a close relative of the banana plant. Harvesting abaca is labor-intensive. Each stalk must be cut into strips, which are then usually scraped by hands to remove the pulp. The long white fibers are then washed and sun dried. Abaca fiber is strong, durable, biodegradable and eco-friendly.
